Lexington police identify officers who fatally shot July 13 mass shooting suspect

LEXINGTON, Ky. (KT) – Lexington Police (LPD) have released the names of the three officers who fired the shots that killed Guy House, the suspect in a mass shooting that took place earlier this month near Bluegrass Airport and outside Richmond Road Baptist Church.

They have been identified as Sgt. Ross Collins, a 13-year veteran assigned to the Bureau of Investigation; Officer Kyle Blankenship, a five-year patrol officer; and Officer Simon Rankin, an eight-year patrol officer.

The first incident occurred just after 11:30 a.m. EDT, Sunday July 13 on Terminal Drive, near Bluegrass Airport, and involved a Kentucky State Police (KSP) Trooper.
