Master plan underway to define downtown Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The year has been about celebrating Lexington’s 250th birthday, and while there are still nearly five months left in 2025, leaders are thinking about the future beyond this milestone.

It has been 60 years since Lexington created a master plan and a long-term blueprint on how downtown will be developed.

“That has led development to occur in Lexington, but not in a way that it is organized or a way that we’re really reflecting what people want from Lexington today,” Hal Baillie, manager of long-term planning with Lexington, said.
