NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office announced the retirement of a K-9 officer on Wednesday.
The office said Batman’s handler decided to medically retire him due to medical issues a few months ago.
“K9 Batman has served this Agency with unwavering loyalty, professionalism and dedication. Through his years of service, K9 Batman has been instrumental in securing convictions in criminal cases at the state and federal level,” the office said.

According to the office, Batman has also played a pivotal role in helping to seize hundreds of pounds of narcotics and has found firearms, along with helping apprehend several suspects.
