LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Saint Joseph Hospital is alerting the public about a phone scam in which callers pretend to be from the hospital to steal personal or financial information.
Officials say scammers are using phone numbers that appear to come from the hospital and are referencing recent Medicare and Medicaid changes following federal legislation. Victims are being asked for sensitive information or payment.
