Family grieves father and son lost in Nicholasville hotel tragedy

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A North Carolina mother was left to pick up the pieces in July, after her husband and son were found dead inside a Nicholasville hotel room.

On Tuesday, July 29, Joseph Kiser hadn’t come down to check out of his Comfort Inn hotel room. According to Nicholasville police, officers were dispatched around noon after hotel staff went to check on the overdue guests, only to discover the bodies of Kiser and his 13-year-old son, Malcom.

Joy Kiser, the victim’s wife and mother, reported Malcom missing the day before his body was found. His father had checked them in at the Nicholasville hotel six days earlier.

Nicholasville police told FOX 56 that it’s believed that Kiser shot his son before turning the gun on himself. There was no note left behind. After speaking with family, officers said it appeared to be a “completely unforeseen incident.”…
