Puppy stolen from Nicholasville shelter found in Bardstown

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — After a four-month-old pit bull mix puppy was stolen from Jessamine County Animal Care and Control (JCACC) on Friday, Nicholasville police wasted no time trying to find him.

The puppy, named Wendell, was reportedly stolen from the shelter on Friday, Aug. 22, by a woman and a man who were there with a child. Staff posted security camera footage of the woman leaving the shelter with Wendell in tow.

On Saturday, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office announced on social media that Nicholasville law enforcement made an assist call, leading deputies to Springfield Road in Bardstown, where a stolen puppy was found.

Sheriff’s office officials wrote that the information on those involved in stealing Wendell has been given to Nicholasville authorities, “where charges are expected.”

Around 3 p.m. on Saturday, officials with JCACC wrote on Facebook that through being taken and found again, Wendell has “found his forever home.”…
