Kentucky flags lowered to half-staff as nation mourns loss of children gunned down at Annunciation Catholic School

FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered all state flags be lowered to half-staff until Sept. 1 in honor of the victims of the Aug. 26 shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis.

The order comes in compliance with a proclamation issued by President Trump on Wednesday, “as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence.”

Beshear echoed his response to Wednesday’s shooting in the order, saying American children should be safe and feel safe in their schools, and that Kentucky stands with Minneapolis and all the families affected.
