Georgetown community mourns passing of ‘beloved’ doctor

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — The staff of Georgetown Pediatrics announced the passing of a beloved doctor and the practice’s founder on Friday evening.

Dr. Horace Hambrick passed on the morning of Sept. 5. Officials wrote that he was a compassionate soul, and that his kindness, wisdom, and dedication touched countless lives.

In late July, Hambrick had told FOX 56 that he had to retire due to his diagnosis of Synovial sarcoma, a rare form of cancer.

“I knew people loved him,” said Amy Southworth, secretary at Georgetown Pediatrics. “But now, as we have this daily conversation over and over again about how Dr. Hambrick’s doing, it’s just really evident how loved he is and how much he’s going to be missed.”…
