Jazz fans, take note. You might dig Lexington’s special anniversary concert series this month

Chester Grundy is a co-founder of the Origins Jazz Series, which will be presenting the performances. He says he’s excited about the chance to welcome some new fans into the club.

“Most people do not claim to be jazz lovers. They may have some familiarity with the music, but it’s the live experience that typically serves as the baptismal,” he says. “Once you experience this music live and see the magic of improvisation, that’s where the following comes from.”

And there will be plenty of chances to get more Lexingtonians into the swing of things — nine events, in fact, over the course of five days, with most taking place at the Kentucky Theatre. They run from September 17-21…
