LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Lexington officials are investigating a sad case of animal abandonment, trying to find the person responsible for leaving newborn puppies outside an apartment complex over the weekend. They told FOX 56 that criminal charges could be forthcoming.
It was outside the metropolitan apartments in Lexington where officials said two puppies were abandoned in a box Saturday night. They’re only about a week old.

“After we picked them up, they immediately went home with a staff member, and they were being bottle-fed every two hours,” said Cruelty Investigator Jai Hamilton. “Like, that is how much these newborns needed care.”
Hamilton said it’s a heartless act to leave puppies to fend for themselves with no ability to get their own shelter, food, or water. In this case, Hamilton said the puppies could have died if authorities didn’t intervene…
