High friction surface treatment
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 15, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled work for US 27. Lane closures will be necessary for high friction surface treatment to be applied.
High friction surface treatments (HFST) are pavement safety applications which assist to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities. The application is especially important during wet roadway conditions.
