Machine Incident Kills Worker KY Autoparts Maker

A contractor conducting machine maintenance at an autoparts factory in Georgetown, Kentucky died in an industrial incident early Saturday morning, officials said.

Richard Thurmon, 35, of Elizabethtown, KY, died in the incident which occurred Saturday, September 13 at 4:30 a.m. at International Crankshaft, an autoparts manufacturer near downtown Georgetown, according to Scott County Coroner Mark Sutton.

Thurman was a contractor working with Atlas Machine as a field machinist. Additionally, another person suffered an injury in the incident, but that person’s condition was not immediately available…
