2 Paris schools placed on lockdown ahead of 3-day weekend

PARIS, Ky. (FOX 56) — Paris Middle School and Paris High School were placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon after an anonymous threat.

The Paris Police Department investigated and reportedly determined there was no credible danger to students or staff.

“We are deeply grateful for the quick response and continued support of the Paris Police Department and our School Resource Officer, William Bell,” Superintendent Stephen McCauley said in a message sent to families.

Out of caution, the superintendent said officers stayed on campus the rest of the day, with extra patrols at Paris Elementary as well…
