LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Another West Nile Virus case has been reported in Fayette County.
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department said the Kentucky Department for Public Health issued a Health Alert on Sept. 30 regarding an increase in mosquito-borne illnesses in Kentucky, including West Nile Virus and La Crosse virus.

Kentucky has had 19 cases, including 1 death, of West Nile Virus. Four of those cases were here in Fayette County, and all patients were hospitalized.
The cases in Fayette County were all reported in late August through late September, in adults 30-77 years old who spent long periods of time outside and reported being bitten by mosquitoes in the 40502, 40505, and 40509 zip codes…
