LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Kentucky’s Auditor Allison Ball is giving us a better idea of when to expect results from her special examination into FCPS. Ball made the comments during a taping of Kentucky Newsmakers.
Auditor Allison Ball said on Kentucky Newsmakers that her office started showing interest in Fayette County Public Schools when FCPS administrators started talking about raising taxes.
“That was absolutely a red flag. I’ve heard some rumblings about issues in Fayette County at the same time that I was hearing about Jefferson County, so I had it on my radar screen, but when they came asking for a tax increase because they were saying they were essentially out of money, that means you’re in dire financial shape,” said Ball…
