BARDSTOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington man was arrested late Friday night after a chase across Bardstown.
The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) posted on social media that just before 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, deputies tried to pull 18-year-old Hugo Perez over on New Shepherdsville Road after allegedly seeing him speed past other vehicles along the road in a red Lincoln MKZ.
Perez, of Lexington, hit a curb after turning onto Chambers Boulevard, according to law enforcement, where he stopped at a Five Star parking lot and ran out of the red. He was arrested after a brief chase.

Perez was charged with:
- Speeding 26 MPH or greater over the limit
- No operator’s license
- Reckless driving
- Improper passing
- Failure to or improper signal
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense, aggravated circumstances
- First-degree wanton endangerment
- First-degree wanton endangerment toward a police officer
- Failure to produce an insurance card
- Possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle
- Second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot
- First-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle
- Driving on a DUI-suspended license- first offense
- No operator’s/moped license
