Lexington man arrested in Bardstown after chase

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington man was arrested late Friday night after a chase across Bardstown.

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) posted on social media that just before 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, deputies tried to pull 18-year-old Hugo Perez over on New Shepherdsville Road after allegedly seeing him speed past other vehicles along the road in a red Lincoln MKZ.

Perez, of Lexington, hit a curb after turning onto Chambers Boulevard, according to law enforcement, where he stopped at a Five Star parking lot and ran out of the red. He was arrested after a brief chase.

Perez was charged with:

  • Speeding 26 MPH or greater over the limit
  • No operator’s license
  • Reckless driving
  • Improper passing
  • Failure to or improper signal
  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense, aggravated circumstances
  • First-degree wanton endangerment
  • First-degree wanton endangerment toward a police officer
  • Failure to produce an insurance card
  • Possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle
  • Second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot
  • First-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle
  • Driving on a DUI-suspended license- first offense
  • No operator’s/moped license
