Puppy abandoned at Winchester shelter gate

WINCHESTER, Ky. (FOX 56) — Shelter workers in Clark County spoke out Tuesday evening after surveillance video showed someone dumping a puppy at their gate before driving off.

Members of the Clark County Animal Shelter (CCAS) in Winchester posted on Facebook around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, that it took less than 12 seconds for the driver to pull up, park sideways, and shove the puppy through a small gap in the gate.

“If you make bad choices that affect you, that’s one thing but when your poor choices put a helpless puppy at risk that shows your total disregard for anyone but yourself,” shelter officials wrote.

Clark County animal rights advocates wrote that while the shelter only has a three-person staff, help was only a call or message away, even outside of normal operating hours…
