Man enters Alford plea in deadly Lexington shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A man originally charged with murder in a 2021 Lexington shooting has entered a Alford plea to a lesser charge.

In court Friday morning, Deonte Carter entered the plea to second-degree manslaughter in the death of Devon Sandusky.

An Alford plea means the defendant does not admit guilt but acknowledges that prosecutors have enough evidence to secure a conviction.
