LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Hundreds of pages of internal emails are revealing new details about the conversations that took place in the months leading up to Fayette County Public Schools’ ongoing budget crisis.
In December 2024, Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins told board member Amanda Ferguson that the district’s finances were “very healthy.” That email was sent in response to Ferguson’s initial email questioning why the board wasn’t informed before a proposed 10% department cut was discussed.
