RICHMOND, Ky. (FOX 56) — Authorities are warning people of fake violation notices being mailed in Madison County.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, residents have received fake violation notices by mail demanding nearly $6,000 in payment.

The citations are fraudulent and not issued by any legitimate law enforcement or court authority, per the department.
The sheriff’s office wrote that people should not send money or provide any personal information.
