Chemical spill contained at Vestis facility in Lexington on Versailles Road

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Around 9:30 a.m. Monday emergency crews responded to a chemical spill at Vestis, a uniform and workplace supply factory located on Versailles Road in Lexington.

Approximately 70 gallons of ferric chloride had leaked from the facility. Fortunately, the chemical was quickly contained and neutralized before the arrival of fire and hazmat teams.

District Chief David Davis, of the Lexington Fire Department, confirmed that the situation was under control upon their arrival.
