Georgetown police enforce traffic violations along I-75

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — In Georgetown, police have identified a dangerous stretch of I-75, causing officers to take action.

In early October, Georgetown police enforced traffic violations for four hours, leading to multiple charges and conducting 101 traffic stops. Police said there have been 63 traffic crashes along I-75 since Jan. 1, and the most recent collision resulted in serious injury.

Traffic enforcement and patrol officers have been out on Cherry Blossom Way and I-75 enforcing the rules of the road. Many of the collisions have occurred between mile markers 127 and 125. From 3-7 p.m., officers gave out more than 100 citations and made one arrest.
