Lexington, KY Man Pleads Guilty in U.S. Federal Court to Drug Charges in Laurel County

LONDON, Ky. – A Lexington man has pleaded guilty in U.S. Federal Court in London to felony drug trafficking charges stemming from a 2023 arrest in Laurel County and now faces a recommended 20-year prison sentence.

The recommended sentence is 240 months (20 years) in federal prison.

The charges originated from an investigation that began on June 1, 2023. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Laurel Sheriff’s Interdiction Unit stopped Washington’s BMW at a traffic safety checkpoint in northern Laurel County. During the stop, Washington was found in possession of approximately one pound of methamphetamine, two ounces of fentanyl, and a firearm.
