Celebration of life held for Winchester mother killed in apparent murder-suicide

WINCHESTER, Ky. (FOX 56) — A mother’s life was celebrated on Saturday in Winchester just over a week after her untimely death.

Winchester authorities said they responded to a home in the 100 block of Westside Drive around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 to find two people who had been shot. The pair was later identified as 35-year-old Ava Brantley and 38-year-old Tyler Snowden of Irvine.

According to authorities, Brantley and Snowden had been in “a romantic relationship,” but she had filed a domestic violence order on Thursday, Oct. 16.

Scobee Funeral Home staff wrote that Brantley was one of five siblings and a mother of four. Born in Mt. Sterling, she’d worked as a truck and bus driver, and “was known for her strong work ethic, free spirit and her love for everyone.”…
