Lexington police’s park search tied to 1997 missing girl’s case

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Officials released new information about the heavy police presence seen Sunday at an area park.

Officers spent much of Oct. 26 searching Preston’s Spring Park in the Cardinal Valley neighborhood.

On Monday, the Lexington Police Department said the search is connected to the disappearance of 14-year-old Lydia Perkins, who was reported missing in October 1997.
