LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Free and reduced-price school meals are still available in Fayette County despite ongoing federal funding uncertainty.
Here’s a list of central Kentucky food resources ahead of SNAP cutoff
The district said anyone who does not currently receive free lunch can apply online anytime. School officials said the current federal funding issues have not affected school meal services at this time.
“We acknowledge that the uncertainty and potential disruption to federal support programs like SNAP is significantly compounding the strain on local charitable food systems. This is a critical challenge, as charitable organizations cannot replace the scale of federal benefits,” Miranda Scully, district spokesperson, said
Several schools also have food pantries available for students and families. The largest pantries are at Bryan Station and Lafayette High Schools.
