17-year-old accused of shooting elderly man to death in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A 17-year-old is reportedly being held in custody in southern Kentucky after being charged in the shooting death of 81-year-old Thomas Kriegel on Oct. 24.

The Lexington Police Department issued a “video news release” on Thursday, Oct. 30, announcing that a teen had been charged with murder and held in a juvenile detention center in Warren County.

Kriegel had been found shot by LPD officers at a home on the 400 block of Lakebow Court, according to authorities, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
