Lost Lexington dog safely reunited with family after slipping through fence

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Lexington family is celebrating a happy ending after their missing dog, Scrappy Doo, was safely reunited with them thanks to quick action by Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control.

Officials say they received a call about a small brown and white dog spotted wandering the Kenwick neighborhood. When animal control officers arrived, they found Scrappy Doo cornered in an alley, frightened and growling.

The officer was able to safely secure Scrappy and load him into their truck. Because the dog was wearing a city license and rabies tag, they were quickly able to contact his owner…
