7 whooping cough cases reported across Lexington schools

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is reporting eight confirmed cases of whooping cough, also known as pertussis.

Health department leaders told FOX 56 News that seven of those cases involve school-aged children from Lafayette High School, Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, Lansdowne Elementary, and Lexington Christian Academy.

The eighth case is a 1-year-old, according to the health department.
