LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Lexington leaders announced on Tuesday that millions of dollars in medical debt have been erased for thousands of Fayette County residents, marking the first effort of its kind in Kentucky.
Vice Mayor Dan Wu was joined by council members and Aqsa Qureshi, a Psychiatric Physician Assistant at UK Eastern State Hospital, who has seen the effects of medical debt firsthand through her patients.

The group detailed the large-scale financial relief during a press conference held in the Government Center lobby.
