1 surrenders to Georgetown deputies after reportedly shooting ballistic shield

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — Multiple law enforcement officials responded to a “weapons offense” in a Georgetown neighborhood on Sunday.

Deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office told FOX 56 News that around 9 a.m. on Nov. 23, they were sent to the 100 block of Laurie Lane after a caller told authorities that a family member had shot through a bathroom door while another relative was inside.

Law enforcement officials said search and arrest warrants were completed, and a Special Response Team (SRT) entered the trailer where the bathroom had been shot through.

SRT members were about to go into a bedroom when the family member allegedly shot through a wall and hit a ballistic shield, deputies told FOX 56 News.

Officials said that gas was then deployed into the trailer, and after a few minutes, he came out with his hands up and surrendered to law enforcement…
