God’s Pantry Food Bank gives out thousands of free holiday meals in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — God’s Pantry Food Bank, with the help of volunteers, distributed thousands of Thanksgiving meal boxes Tuesday as part of its annual Sharing Thanksgiving program.

The event, held at Southland Christian Church’s Richmond Road location in Lexington, brought together volunteers, families, and community leaders united by one goal: ensuring every household has the opportunity to enjoy a holiday meal.

This year, the food bank is distributing 7,500 Thanksgiving boxes across 12 counties in Central and Eastern Kentucky. About 4,000 of those boxes are used for Fayette County, with the remaining 3,000 going to surrounding communities.
