GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — Foot traffic was steady in downtown Georgetown on Saturday afternoon, as customers browsed family-owned shops and greeted business owners.
This wasn’t just any Saturday, though. It was Small Business Saturday: the day after Black Friday that encouraged people across the country to skip big-box stores and shop within their communities.
“Even though it’s a time of people really needing to watch their finances, that they still realize the value of a small business and what goes into giving back to the community. So we’re so grateful,” said Melissa Mattox, owner of Miss Behaven, a clothing boutique on East Main Street.
