Tow truck driver called hero for stopping bridge suicide

VERSAILLES, Ky. (WKYT) – Heroes come in all forms, and in Versailles, one drives a tow truck, according to city police.

The Versailles Police Department recognized tow truck driver Stefano Slone with the Chief’s Commendation for preventing a suicide on Tyrone Bridge.

Slone said he was towing a car from an accident in Woodford County on the morning of Nov. 26. It’s not the route he would normally take, but a co-worker suggested taking Tyrone Pike. As Slone approached the bridge, he noticed a couple of cars sitting still…
