GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — Officers with the Georgetown Police Department (GPD) are investigating a neighborhood home on Tuesday after an early morning chase where cruisers were reportedly shot at.
Around 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 9, FOX 56 News crew members were sent to the 1300 block of Fairfax Way after reports of a large police presence in the area.
According to the GPD, officers had tried to pull someone over around 3 a.m. on Tuesday near Paynes Depot Road. He allegedly tried to flee and headed toward Stamping Ground, shooting at officers and disabling the lead cruiser in the chase.
Police investigating after shots fired into Lexington home
Officers said an extensive manhunt had followed, ending with the driver being found and taken into custody. His name has not been released by law enforcement.
At the scene, police cars were found blocking off the area while neighbors were being asked to stay clear of the investigation for their safety.

Just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, officials with the GPD identified the suspect as 35-year-old Dustin Aliff. He’s been charged with:
- Attempted murder of a police officer
- First-degree fleeing or evading police
- First-degree unlawful imprisonment
- Tampering with physical evidence
- First-degree criminal mischief
