LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Fayette County Public Schools will move forward with its own financial audit despite objections from State Auditor Allison Ball, who called the district’s decision “disappointing.”
The school board voted 3-2 Monday night to hire a Texas-based firm to audit the district’s financial records. The same firm was hired in 2016 by a district where current FCPS Superintendent Demetrus Liggins previously worked. FCPS has also used the firm before.
