NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Jessamine County first responders, alongside an area family, are being recognized for their work saving a father after a cardiac arrest episode.
Shawn Murphy had recently experienced sudden cardiac arrest at home. According to Jessamine County Emergency Medical Services, his family jumped into action as a 911 dispatcher instructed them on how to perform CPR until help could arrive.

“Mr. Murphy was defibrillated multiple times, received aggressive airway management, and multiple rounds of cardiac arrest medications. Throughout the arrest, Mr. Murphy showed signs of neurological function, and when a returning a pulse was achieved, our crews performed RSI to provide further airway protection,” first responders wrote.
Now, Murphy had returned home to his normal, active life…
