JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – Jessamine County Public Schools declared a snow day Friday instead of using another non-traditional instruction day, giving students and families a chance to enjoy the winter weather.
The district used its only built-in snow day on the school calendar after already using three NTI days this school year, including two this week and one Thursday due to icy roads.
“Today was just an opportunity we felt like there was going to be plenty of snow and good opportunity for kids to get out and participate in that,” said Matthew Simpson, director of operations for Jessamine County Public Schools. “We’ve had two NTI days this week already and we felt like this was a good opportunity for kids to go out and enjoy being a kid.”
