LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The University of Kentucky held its winter commencement ceremony at Rupp Arena Friday morning, with several thousand students graduating.
Among those crossing the stage was Bryson Honeycutt, a Knott County native who was selected as student speaker for the ceremony. His journey to graduation included overcoming cancer as a child and pursuing a dream that began long before he knew what engineering was.
“Coming to University of Kentucky was always a big dream of mine,” Honeycutt said. “I grew up in Eastern Kentucky so I really felt a strong connection to the big blue nation and I grew a passion for learning about engineering and University of Kentucky was the obvious choice.”
