LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Although originally from New Jersey, Lexington has been Lenora McGrath’s home for 50 years.
In 1990, she began her doctoral program at the University of Kentucky, but she took a sabbatical from that, which lasted over 30 years.

“I still had children going through the school system. And it was just like, just too much work. And I thought, okay, I’ll just take a little sabbatical. And then, you know, personal things happen. And the sabbatical went and longer than I thought,” she explained.
McGrath was a math teacher for 44 years until retiring in 2022. With the support of her friends and family, that’s when she started her doctoral program…
