Lexington woman arrested after shot fired into neighboring apartment

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A Lexington woman was arrested early Sunday morning after police say she fired a handgun inside an apartment, sending a bullet through the floor and into a neighboring unit where two people were sitting.

According to an arrest citation, 21-year-old Rachel Abner was taken into custody at a residence in the 200 block of East Reynolds Road.

Police say a search warrant was executed at the apartment, where officers reported finding approximately 15 pounds of marijuana. Several firearms and multiple boxes of Ziploc bags were also located, which police say is indicative of narcotics trafficking.

According to the report, Abner admitted to handling a handgun that discharged into the floor of the apartment. Police say the projectile entered the apartment below, where two people were sitting in their living room at the time…
