Man charged with intentionally setting a fire at an occupied Lexington hotel

A Lexington man is facing several charges after he allegedly intentionally started a fire at an occupied hotel.

The fire happened Dec. 14 at the Days Inn & Suites hotel on North Broadway. Court documents say Christopher Britt, 33, intentionally started the fire, and there were at least 44 people inside the building at the time, according to court documents.

The fire department said it originally responded to the hotel for a report of a patient having difficulty breathing. That patient was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
