LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Christmas is a magical time for children, but spending it in a hospital can quickly dim that joy. For nearly two years, the Hollingshed family has been adjusting to what they call their “new normal.”
“One day he could be a happy, jolly. And then the next day, we’re taking him to the emergency room,” said Spanisha Hollingshed.

In May 2024, just after his third birthday, My’lo Hollingshed was diagnosed with leukemia. He later received a bone marrow transplant and is now in remission.
On Dec. 17, FOX 56 spoke with My’lo’s family about their plans this Christmas. At the time, they planned on being home for Christmas. This would’ve marked their first holiday out of the hospital since the diagnosis…
