Herbert Lynn announces run for Lexington city councilman

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Herbert Lynn announced Saturday evening that he is running for Lexington-Fayette City Council at Large.

He wrote on Facebook shortly before 5 p.m. on Dec. 27 that he wanted to build a more affordable Lexington for working people.

Lynn, a self-described Democratic Socialist, worked as an HVAC dispatcher and a local organizer. He claimed that rising costs in Lexington had made it increasingly difficult for working people to afford housing and necessities.

“Rent prices have skyrocketed. Homeownership is a pipe dream. Our bills are rising faster than our paychecks,” Lynn said. “The people of this city deserve better.”…
