Lexington rescue sees surge in abandoned ‘doodles’ as two dogs need medical help

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Two young doodles now have a warm place to sleep, but until a couple of days ago, the streets of Manchester were their home.

Paws 4 the Cause rescued doodles Pepper and Ryder earlier this week, but they need financial help to bring them back to health.

Vice President Anita Spreitzer said a neighbor reached out, concerned about their weight and matted fur. They reported that Ryder was hit by an ambulance over a year ago, but never received care for his injuries. Now the doodle needs his leg amputated due to open sores on his broken leg that became infected…
