Lexington leaders discuss plans to address homelessness

LEXINGTON, Ky. — This year, Lexington aims to meet people where they are to address housing insecurity.

From working inside middle schools to hands-on experience with the Fayette County Public Schools McKinney-Vento program, T.C. Johnson is a longtime family resource advocate for students and a key leader, helping families find their next steps when facing homelessness.

She is also among the community members leading discussions at the first subcommittee meeting of the year, which is part of Mayor Linda Gorton’s homelessness task force that is reviewing strategic solutions and factors in place to serve Lexington’s homeless community…
