8th homicide tied to serial killer behind ‘Yogurt Shop Murders,’ Greenville cold case

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A suspected serial killer who previously lived in Greenville has been linked to another murder cold case across the country.

Police in Lexington, Kentucky identified Robert Eugene Brashers as the killer of 43-year-old Linda Rutledge.

Rutledge’s body was found in a fire at a hearing aid business in Lexington on Nov. 7, 1998. Investigators determined she had been shot in the head multiple times.

Brashers died in 1999, so he was never convicted of murder but investigators have linked him to multiple high-profile cases in the 90s…
