LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Lexington’s Office of Homelessness Prevention and Intervention (OHPI) has extended its Emergency Winter Weather Plan.
It’s now in effect from Tuesday, Jan. 20, through Monday, Jan. 26, as forecasts show below-freezing temperatures throughout the week, including a system hinting at snow chances for the weekend.

“All eyes are on this weekend and a potential winter storm,” FOX 56 chief meteorologist Justin Logan wrote in his Tuesday morning forecast. “It’s still too early for specifics, but snow looks likely, and it could be significant.”
Under the plan, city leaders said emergency shelters would continue to operate with additional capacity and relax previous restrictions. Increased outreach efforts will work to get those in need to the nearest shelter…
