LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Lexington city leaders are reminding home and store owners that once snowfall stops, the countdown starts to get sidewalks cleared.
Most homeowners are responsible for clearing paths around their homes under city ordinance 12-8.4. Property owners must clear sidewalks around their home or business if more than four inches of snow has fallen and if their street has already been plowed. The city requires property owners to do this within 24 hours after snowfall ends.
The city is responsible for more than 80 miles of sidewalk clearance. That includes sidewalks for all city buildings and some along local and state roads…
