How are the roads? Kentucky database tracks road conditions, snow plows

KENTUCKY (FOX 56) — As the first major winter storm of 2026 approaches, Kentucky officials urged residents to hunker down on Saturday and expect significant impacts to daily life and travel.

Lexington city officials said the city is preparing for its most severe winter weather since 2015.

Heavy snow with significant accumulations, sleet, ice, and arctic temperatures are likely, along with dangerous travel conditions and power outages.

“This is a serious storm that will likely cause dangerous conditions on our roads and potential power outages, which is why we are doing everything we can to keep Kentuckians safe,” said Gov. Beshear. “We ask that everyone does what they can to prepare now. Run any necessary errands before the storm, avoid traveling while conditions are dangerous, and have weather alerts turned on to stay informed.”…
